Can Co-Existence Exist in Israel’s Mixed Cities?

Date: Wednesday, June 22nd, 11:30-13:00
Location: Oren 4 Hall

The Arab sector makes up for approximately 20% of the population in Israel. This population resides in part, in regions and cities inhabited by both Jews and Arabs. To what extent is the majority-minority relationship in Israel characterized by coexistence and cooperation or rather deprivation and alienation? Is it possible to identify guiding trends in this issue? How can the government and the Israeli civil society help lead us toward a tomorrow of fruitful coexistence? How should life in mixed cities and regions be conducted in the world of tomorrow? Are we headed toward a common or a segregated future?
